The Baruuli and the Banyala are known by their Clans. Each clan has a toetem. Their names are given according to their clans like Bapiina, Babyedo and the like and the women with names starting with Nya... Nyabainda, Nyampiina etc. The cultural heads are known as Ssabaruuuli and Ssabanyala respectively and these are the cultural heads of the clans. The Baruuli -Banyala annually gather together to celebrate the enthronment of their cultural Leaders thanking God and the Government for returning back their cultural freedom.
